It’s pretty amazing how many celebrities have jumped on to Twitter this month. Frankly, it’s a bit frustrating to see most of them barely interact and most only tweet once in a while or obviously not be the real celeb behind the scenes.
Tonight though, I ran across @Alyssa_Milano’s profile on Twitter and after reading 40 or so tweets from her, I got the gut feeling that she was one of the celebs that was doing it right. I noticed that her last tweet was that she was going to dinner. So I thought about how I could get her to retweet me for fun. I noticed that she received about two tweets per minute (or one every 30 seconds, how’s that for obvious math). That was going to be really difficult to break into. So I figured I’d need some help. I decided to ask my totally awesome followers (currently around 20,000 or so) to help me out.
So . . . I asked:
The coolest thing is that my followers (again the best in the world) actually did it for me! How awesome is that? And, sure enough, Alyssa Milano responded with this tweet:
And then later on she also followed it up with this tweet. I can’t remember what my response was to prompt it. Well, okay I can but I was a floundering idiot so no need to rehash that experience.
So, even if people may think that Twitter is a time suck . . . it’s still a hell of a lot of fun when you can do something as silly as get Alyssa Milano to tweet you. LOL
A huge hat tip to Alyssa Milano for being engaged with users (even if I did spam her) and for being so down to earth about the whole thing. Nice to see that money and fame doesn’t get to everyone’s head. Although, I haven’t seen to many of her movies or TV shows since the early 90s, I’m sure going to spend my $10 to see whatever her next movie is.
Social Media FTW!
