The thoughts of a bald SEO guy

Top Three Position for ‘Awesome Pictures’ but only a 3% CTR

Here is what the SERP looks like today for ‘awesome pictures’

Here is what Google Webmaster Tools is telling me about the site’s performance in the SERP . . .

My theory is that the hot chick with the guitar barely covering her body is taking most of the CTR. Secondarily, the Meta Description is too descriptive and it describes that the pictures are only of animals instead of leaving it a bit more vague.  Keep in mind that we care the most about pageviews still (we are a news site, we make most of our money STILL from impression based ads).

What would you change to improve the CTR of this placement? What content would you change (if any) to make it more appropriate to the visitors we are attracting from search? Do you feel I could 301 redirect this page to another destination online that may be more appropriate (i.e. an LATimes or Chicago Tribune photo blog)? Is the user that is simply typing in ‘awesome pictures’ even worth it to us?
